Title: Launch Devlog — I Know You? is Live!

When Brackeys Jam 2025.2 was announced, I was already in the middle of finishing up a small horror game project. At first, I thought of just skipping the jam and continuing my work. But then I had this idea: what if I re-shaped my existing project to fit the theme “Risk and Reward” instead of starting from scratch?

That’s how I Know You? was born.

The game was already about a teenager and his friends messing around with a Ouija board in their rented room — a small choice that spirals into horror. Once I saw the jam theme, I realized it fit perfectly if I leaned into one thing: the “risk it for a biscuit” decision.

  • If you decide to face the strange events, you might uncover the truth and escape.

  • If you ignore the signs, things turn darker… leading to your death.

That single risky choice became the core of the game. I didn’t need to add a ton of extra mechanics — just framing the story around that theme gave it purpose and made the endings more impactful.

What I Learned

  • Sometimes you don’t need to start a new project for a jam — you can reframe what you already have.

  • Themes are flexible. They’re not about forcing an idea, but about finding connections to what you’re passionate about.

This was my first jam project, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Now I’m looking forward to hearing how players react — especially to the two endings.
